#1 Eat more. Yes MORE
You are more than likely used to all those articles telling you to eat less, because it means less calories. But, eating little can actually slow down your metabolism which means you could end up GAINING weight (not what we want.) Eat more of the good foods, like fruit and vegetables. Eat often too to keep your metabolic rate up.
#2 Exercise less.
No, we’re not crazy. Exercising less, but often means you’re more likely to keep it up and not give up. Working out for 2 hours is excellent, but you probably will ache for the next 3 days. A few exercises for 30 minutes 5 times a week sounds less painful and easier to keep up.
#3 Go clothes shopping.
Any excuse for a shopping spree, but seriously, if you pick out a whole new wardrobe in a slightly smaller size, it will inspire you to lose weight. Otherwise you will have just wasted all that cash!
#4 Reduce the cardio.
I mean, who likes running anyway? More strength training and less cardio will build the muscle tissues, and muscle burns fat. Try squats and lunges instead of running and star jumps.
#5 Eat what you want.
…In moderation of course. We say, if you crave pizza…eat a pizza- otherwise you will just go crazy and your cravings will increase. Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your favourite food once in a while. If you allow yourself to eat fries once a week, you’ll find that your mouth won’t water at the thought of them.
#6 Don’t eat after 7pm.
We pile on the pounds from late night eating because we tend to exercise less at night. If you reduce, or even stop your food intake after 7pm you’ll drop weight easily, without much hard work. If you like a munch on the coach, stick to healthy snacks like fruit.
#7 Get a gym membership
Nobody likes to waste money, so if you buy a membership for a gym, you’re more likely to go than choosing the pay-as-you-go option. Let’s face it, going to the gym is a pain in the ass, but losing money is worst. Opt for a gym with plenty of classes and a variety of equipment to stop you from getting bored.
#8 Tune into iTunes
Music is a great motivator and it’s also the perfect distraction from reality. Have a snoop around and buy some new songs that are upbeat enough to push you when you’re working out. Listening to a new playlist is also a great thing to do when you’re bored and would usually reach for a donut.
#9 Treat yourself
In your diet quest, it is very easy to lose sight of how beautiful you are. Pamper yourself- have a new haircut, take a long soak in the bath, watch your favourite films. Doing things you love will help you to remember that dieting doesn’t mean you have to forever be unhappy. Don’t be afraid to compliment yourself, because even after you’ve lost weight, you’ll still be the same person
#10 Don’t forget to drink
I know- you’re sick of hearing it, drink water blah, blah blah. Water is boring and plain, but it’s plain and simple that water will aid in your weight loss. Your skin will illuminate, it’s good for you and it helps you to feel fuller like you’ve just eaten a large pizza.
